Happy Easter!

Our Easter Celebration started on Good Friday. I was able to make it to Axel's school for his Easter egg hunt and party.
This kids were able to hunt for 10 eggs in the very cute Easter bunny ears.
After the hunt the kids enjoyed a yummy treat. I couldn't believe Axel was able to finish his. I later discovered he didn't eat his sandwich at lunch and therefore had plenty of room :)
We then went to pick up Phoenix from Angela's. I then had the privilege of watching Axel help Pheeny during their egg hunt.
I was so over joyed watching Axel have a blast helping his sister.
Phoenix caught on right away and collected nearly a dozen eggs herself.
You can just see how happy she is with all of the cool surprises.
My little Easter bunny with Angela.
We then went home to decorate Easter Eggs. Axel had a super hero kit and Phoenix had a Frozen kit.
Both kids were tired after the coloring so hardly any sticker decorating was done.
On Friday night for some reason Phoenix decided she wanted to wear her underwear. This meant putting on 11 of her 14 pairs. I couldn't resist to get a picture of her in 11 pairs of underwear!
Axel is still awesome at building. I saw this new creation sitting in the pinball room and I thought I would share it.
On Saturday we headed to Auntie's house for our family Easter celebration. My pretty little girl looking grown up.
Phoenix and Braylin in bunny ears.
We had an Easter Egg hunt. The eggs were hidden in great places. Grandpa Brian enjoyed helping all of the grand kids reach the Easter eggs they found. Here he is with Axel.
 .......with Braylin.....
 and with Phoenix.
Here is my only picture of my handsome boy and Pheeny.
And the two of them with Grandma Susan.
Grandma Susan bought a beautiful lamb cake from a famous bakery. Axel wanted the head so here he is being his funny self. He was only able to eat about a third of the piece before daddy had to finish it.
After our meal, egg hunt and cake with headed across the street to the park. Auntie brought bubbles that the kids enjoyed chasing and popping. I love this picture of Axel trying to pop this huge bubble.
I also love this photo of daddy teaching Axel how to swing.

The three cousins played well together. After an hour of play time we headed in for a bath and then headed home. We were grateful for being able to spend the day with family.
On Sunday morning we had our traditional egg hunt in our park. Since most of the neighborhood kids were gone we invited over both of our friends with twins. Tyler and Cynthia have the new girl twins Jade and Zoe and Mike has 3 and a half year old twins Dillinger and Josie.
Phoenix apparently really likes to hunt for eggs. ....
And so does Axel. We had a wonderful weekend celebrating the Lord's resurrection. We our looking forward to a relaxing weekend this weekend, or at least I am. The boys may still go to Monster trucks on Saturday night depending on Axel's behavior. Until next time, God Bless!

Axel is 6 years old!

This past Saturday Axel had his Lego birthday party. He had 10 of his friends from school or baseball there to celebrate with him. Here he is "dressed like a king."

Besides the big jump house the kids all received a car Lego kit. As you can see in the picture it ended up being a beautiful sunny day in the low to mid 80's. The kids were very warm in the sun. I felt bad that we couldn't find more shade for them. Despite the heat the all enjoyed putting together their Lego car.
After hours of fun it was finally cake time. This year there was a bit of a disaster with the cake. To make a long story short...Daddy's hard work to make a giant Lego piece did not turn out. Safeway came through with a cake the day of the party that they were able to have ready for pick up at 2pm. Just in time for the 3pm party.
We were still able to have the Lego 6 that Axel built on top of the cake and the cupcakes that daddy made to go with the Lego cake he had planned on making.

The happy birthday boy with his huge piece of cake. He only managed to eat a few bites of this because his stomach started hurting. He is still in the process of eating this piece of cake 5 days later :).
To top of the stress of the cake ordeal we had a little more stress getting the bounce hour inflated. Luckily, one of the father's was able to get the old fashion gas motor started and all was good in the world. ....

That is until the fuse kept blowing and the bounce house would half collapse. We would reset the fuse and then it would re inflate enough to jump and then this cycle repeated for over an hour. The kids hardly noticed. The party was a huge success. Most of the kids and parents hung out until 7pm. We were surprised that the party lasted 4 hours!
This year I let Axel open up all of his gifts so that we could write thank you notes to his friends. The catch is that he has to earn the ability to physically open the box and play with the gift. So far he has earned two gifts. Hopefully, he will be able to earn the rest soon.
The cool thing about this year is that Axel was able to read his birthday cards (for the most part). I was secretly proud of him for being reserved enough to open the birthday cards up before tearing open the wrapping paper. The card that he is opening below was his last present that you see on the floor above. This was one of 3 gift cards that he received. This was a first for gift card giving for children that I had seen. I was very excited to have 3 less toys to deal with. We will see what becomes of these gift cards.
Yesterday I was able to leave work early to make it to Axel's school in time for his classmates to sing happy  birthday to him. He had a great day at school and his friends enjoyed the cupcakes we brought.
After school I had planned to take him mini golfing, but unfortunately Axel did not have a very positive day on Monday and was really pushing his boundaries. Daddy and I decided it was best to keep the rest of his birthday low key. Instead Axel and I went on a 2.5 mile walk with Annika, his babysitter. We then enjoyed his requested dinner of macaroni and cheese and birthday cake. And now we have a 6 year old!

Baseball and birthday parties

I love this picture. I feel bad for Louis as he is just like the kids and wants to be loved and have attention. He face as he looks at me says it all.....

We have had lots of baseball over the pat two week. Phoenix has found her favorite spot on the side lines. She loves being with the boys. The boys love making her giggle.

Here Axel is giving her a kiss before he bats.
Axel's hitting is improving and he is making contact every game. He still doesn't care for the field very much, but he has played catcher a couple of times and seems to like it.
The equipment is a little big for him and the helmet heavy, but the staying in one spot he liked.
I love this picture of Axel and daddy.
A week and a half ago we went to Rishaan's birthday party.
Here are the two boys sliding down the inflatable slide before the party started. This picture will be bitter sweet as it marks the beginning of the end of their 3+ year relationship. Rishaan will likely be moving in the next 1-3 months depending on the sell of their house and how much rent back time they can get.
Phoenix had a rough day and was quite clingy for the first hour of the party. I took her inside and had her rest. She had a 101 degree fever and couldn't stop going number 2. After about an hour she said she was no longer sick and wanted to go back to the party.
And party she did. With many of the kids gone she was able to have the ability to play without getting push or tackled. Here is my little monkey climbing up the slide.
And her having a blast sliding down!
What a big girl climbing the ladder by herself.
And caring Axel offering a helping hand.
A week ago Tuesday I got called to come pick up Axel from school. He couldn't stop coughing all day and all that night. He stayed home with daddy the next day and went to the doctor. Luckily everything was fine and it was just a cough and nothing else. He had asked for a mohawk the week before for his birthday. I thought it was the perfect time to give him a mohawk.
 So cute!

Axel's First Baseball Game

Time certainly does goes by fast. I have been wanting to post, but couldn't because of the heaviness I had on my heart. I just want to say how inspiring Kendra has been through her whirlwind of pain, diagnoses, surgery, and biopsies. I have learned through my years working in the medical field that cancer or other life threatening events either bring people further or closer to God. I can definitely say that the Spirit of the Lord is oozing out of Kendra. I feel grateful that her experience has been on facebook so that I could take a small part in it with constant prayer and reflection. As Keith is approaching his 5 year mark of a new life after his cancer experience it hits home all the more at what the Webbs are going through. Our marriage and family has only gotten better every year since we hit our low during that scary time and it looks like Kendra and Bronson are already on their way to even a deeper more intimate relationship together and with the Lord. Their maturity in Christ has definitely paid off. Thank you Bronson, Kendra and Aunt Ginny for being an open book during this time and letting us be apart of it. That is what families are for, whether family members by blood or by Christ.

Now onto our little baseball player! The past few weeks have been baseball and birthday parties. Here is Axel practicing grounders with daddy while wearing his fold up sun glasses.
Each day after Axel practices 10 throws, hits and grounders we play, play, play. Here is Phoenix saying, "Queen of the Mountain" as she is standing atop two buckets.
Axel doing a happy dance around his creation.
The weather has been amazing. Actually too hot for my liking. It hit 91 degrees yesterday which was a record high for March 14th.

Axel gets to make all kinds of cool things during Campbell Care, his after school program. A couple of weeks ago he made a kite.
He was so excited about it that we had to go straight to the park and fly his kite rather than coming in to make dinner.
So much fun!!!!
Occasionally our clothing items go missing. It can be pants, underwear, cloth diapers or shirts. Anything that has a smell to it. Well, here is Mr. Louis getting caught red handed. I didn't have a chance to put the clothes in the wash before I put the kids to bed. This is where Keith found Louis when he got home from work.
Last week we went to the Silver Creek Sports Complex in San Jose. It was an action packed hour and a half of play for Axel and his classmates. We were there celebrating his classmate Toby's 6th birthday.
Axel ate a record 3 pieces of pizza and 2 cupcakes because he played so hard during the party and at baseball practice. When we got home Axel didn't feel very well for a bit. A trip to the bathroom expelled what wasn't feeling well and all was good in the world again.
I love this picture of Phoenix. She has discovered two things over the past week. Her dress up shoes and crowns as well as the ability to put her finger in her nose. She gets really excited and tells us that she has buggers. If it is messy in any way, she asks for help with her nose by saying, "Mommy, look, buggers.....get it."
Yesterday was opening day for Quito Little League. It was a long day. Axel was at the field for 4 hours. He had the opening day ceremony, team and individual pictures and then his first game ever. He did great for being completely over heated. He hit two balls and made a couple of plays from right field and threw it right at the first base man who caught it.
Phoenix and Macey had fun watching the opening ceremonies from the dugout.
Here is Axel at bat.
The first ball he hit didn't go far, but he made it to first base!
Because he was the last batter in the line up, the inning always ended after he hit, so he was able to run around the bases each time he went to bat. Here he is rounding first. He was beaming from ear to ear because he was so proud that he didn't have to hit off the T. He really didn't like doing that the first time at bat.
We had a party after his game yesterday and another birthday party today. Next week is Rishaan's birthday party and then the week after is Axel's big day and party. We are hoping April won't be as busy because we are partied out. I have declined 4 invitations for the next two weeks because of conflicts and the fact that it is just too much!!!! Until next time........!
